Cobbs’ pick of the Week: Tidal –“is the first music service with High Fidelity sound quality, High Definition music videos and Curated Editorial, expertly crafted by music journalists.”

This week Cobbs’ shared with the crew how he was learning about the quality of sound through digital format, and how certain streaming services sacrifice the quality of a song/record  due to the type of file they decide to use on that platform. He also shared his journey through streaming services from Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music and now Tidal.

Not to mention, we all know whenever Beyonce decides to drop her latest album it’s most likely going to be exclusively on Tidal. So we all might as well get on board now.

Alexes Rose’s pick of the week: BET Honors 2016

My pick of the week was definitely the BET Honors. From the very beginning I was captivated by the legendary and gorgeous Toni Braxton when she covered all of her hits with the support of her sisters Traci, Trina, and Towanda. From there it only seemed to get better with the tribute for LA Reid from Usher where he covered a lot of the hits that LA was apart of with such a large range of artists. From there the beautiful Jazmine Sullivan hit the stage and of course tore it down but the one who left everyone begging for more with her Patti Labelle tribute was Ms. Fantasia Barrino. Can we all agree that Fantasia is basically the “Tribute Queen”? When you need a tribute done right BET please don’t forget to call our girl Tasia!

Lex’s pick of the week: “Work”- Rihanna ft. Drake

That’s right! Work has made it’s way on to the B-List for the 2nd Week in a row! Bad Gal RiRi what are you doing to us?! *Sidenote: Congrats on the #1 Album!* This week Lex talked about how this song has finally pulled her in and it’s Drake’s verse that has got her keeping this song in rotation.

Emani’s pick of the week: Black Power Movement

Have you noticed the Black Power Movement that’s been going on? From Kendrick Lamar’s captivating performance to Beyonce’s Formation Video and Superbowl Halftime performance. Emani is definitely here for the movement and loving the effect it is having on Black people. She shares that she feels there’s a shift going on in the black community and it’s helping us stay empowered as a culture, learn more about our history and helping women embrace their natural hair texture.
